Boone North Carolina
Boone, North Carolina is located in Western North
Carolina and is the hub and center of the area known as
the High Country. Boone is known as the home of
the Appalachian State University Mountaineers, and is
considered to be one of the most beautiful places in
Western North Carolina.
Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Boone North
Carolina is filled
with gorgeous sights each season. In the summer and
spring, the area experiences milder temperatures, and
many people come to the Boone area to escape the hotter
temperatures off of the mountain. In the winter, Boone
experiences a significant amount of snowfall each
season, making it the perfect place for NC snow skiing.
The economy of Boone North Carolina is thriving, and many new
businesses are coming to the area. Tourism related
industries do very well here. Boone is a
favorite vacation spot and retirement place for many. We
have a great number of full time residents, and also a
few seasonal residents and visitors.
The schools in Watauga County, the county that Boone is
located in, are great schools of excellence and many
have been recognized either by the state or nationally.
Watauga High School seniors perform well each year on
the SAT’s and we have some of the highest scores in the
state of North Carolina. The teachers in the county are determined to
provide students with the best well rounded education,
preparing them to be leaders and also preparing them for
college.
For medical care in Watauga County, there is the Watauga
Medical Center which is located in Boone and is a new
state of the art facility offering many medical
services.
There is an abundance of activities to do in Boone North
Carolina, and
many great cultural happenings to check out. The
downtown area of Boone has become the cultural hub of
the town, with many great shops and eateries located on
King Street. The Turchin Center for the Arts is also
located downtown and features many great exhibits year
round. The Convocation Center on the ASU campus also
brings many speakers and entertainers each year. ASU has a great performing arts festival each
summer and
features many amazing and talented performers at each
show.
There is a lot to do outdoors in Boone - it is an outdoor enthusiasts dream. You can enjoy
virtually any outdoor activity you can think of in
Boone. Everything from hiking and biking to fishing and
horseback riding are all popular activities in Boone and
the surrounding areas. Many residents also enjoy taking a
drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopping by some
beautiful overlooks that offer breathtaking views of the
Blue Ridge Mountains. With all the great things to do
here and the gorgeous sites and sounds of the mountains,
it’s really no wonder that after people visit Boone
North Carolina they never
